Q: How do you get all these items?
ScreenBid conducts auctions on behalf of studios and producers who want to make props, wardrobe items, set decoration and other items available to fans and collectors.
Q: This stuff is great!
Thanks! We think so.
Q: But how do I know it’s authentic?
Because ScreenBid conducts auctions on behalf of studios and producers, everything we sell comes direct from the source. And every ScreenBid item comes with a Certificate of Authenticity issued by the studio or producer, guaranteeing the authenticity of your purchase.
To ensure you know exactly who certifies authenticity, ScreenBid posts that information on every item’s individual page.
Q: I saw something I love. How do I bid on it?
Easy. Once you’ve logged in to your ScreenBid account and found something – or a few somethings – you’re interested in, type in the amount you’d like to bid and click the “Bid Now” button.
Q: Will I know if someone has outbid me?
You sure will. We’ll email you.
Q: Can the computer bid for me?
Sort of. You can set a maximum bid – some people call it a “proxy bid” on any item. If someone bids higher than your earlier bid, the computer will automatically increase your bid until you either win or reach your maximum. Other bidders won’t know that you’ve placed a maximum bid. They’ll just know that they have been outbid.
Q: How do I know if I’ve won?
You can watch the auction as it closes – it’s really interesting. But you don’t have to. ScreenBid emails all winners as soon as their item closes.
Q: What do you mean, “closes?”
To give everyone an opportunity to bid, ScreenBid ends bidding on lots one-by-one, instead of shutting down the auction all at once. Every item’s information page – we call it a “Product Display Page” – lists what time the item will start to close. We say “start to close” because we don’t end bidding on any item until a full minute has passed without any bids. If someone places a bid within 60 seconds of closing time, the lot will remain open for an additional minute. If anyone bids during that minute, the lot will remain open for an additional minute. The item will stay open until 60 seconds pass with no bids.
Q: Can I attend a ScreenBid auction?
ScreenBid auctions are exclusively online. So no matter where you are, if you have a working internet connection and a working computer, you’re attending.
Q: I’m thinking of bidding on a wardrobe item. Do the clothing sizes match what I’d find in a store?
For the most part, yes. But remember, the wardrobe items are screen-used, and may have been altered to better fit the actor or actress who originally wore them.
Q: I won! Now what?
Well congratulations! The next few steps are easy – and they’re up to you.
You’ll receive an email outlining what to do. We will bill the credit card we have on file for you after the entire auction has ended. If you’d rather pay by cash, check, wire transfer, or PayPal, we’re happy to accommodate you. When you receive your invoice, let us know immediately that you want to pay by a method other than credit card. We’ll take care of it.
Q: Will you ship my item to me?
While you are welcome to make any delivery arrangements you’d like, we are happy to have our shipping department help you. Whether we ship or you make other arrangements, in addition to the UPS delivery charge, we include a $14.95 handling fee on all items ($24.95 for items shipped outside the United States), and large items may require an additional fee.
Our shipping department sends all items individually, by UPS, one item per package. If you have us ship for you, we’ll send you a tracking number as soon as your package leaves our facility. If you would like to make arrangements to pickup your item(s) at our Culver City, California facility contact us at [email protected] or call: (310) 287-0100.
Q: How much does it cost to ship?
It depends on how big your item is, how much it weighs, and where it’s going.
Q: How long does it take to ship?
It can take up to six weeks to ship items. If you’d like rush delivery, we can expedite for an additional fee.
Q: Can you ship to a post office box?
For now, we only ship to street addresses.
Q: I live outside the United States. Can you help me with shipping?
There’s a handling charge of $24.95 (per item) for international shipments, plus shipping fees and you will, of course, be responsible for any tariffs, duties, import fees or other requirements imposed by your government. In the event that you refuse to accept a shipment, and the item is returned to ScreenBid, you will be subject to a charge of 25% of the purchase price of the returned item, plus all shipping charges incurred in the shipment and return shipment of the item. The balance of the price paid for the item and related fees will be issued only as a credit to be used against future auctions or ShopScreenBid purchases.
Q: Are there other fees?
Yes. A 24 percent buyer’s premium will be added to all winning bids, in auctions. A 10 percent buyer’s premium will be added to all items purchased in the ScreenBid Store. Buyer’s premium is a percentage additional charge on the hammer price (winning bid at auction), or sale price in the store, of the lot that must be paid by the winner. It is charged by the auctioneer to cover administrative expenses. The buyer’s premium goes directly to ScreenBid and not to the seller.
Q: Why do you ask for my credit card information before I bid?
In order to accept your bid, ScreenBid needs to have your credit card information on file. When you register, we validate your card by placing a one-cent hold — which is never transferred to our account — on your card. The hold expires after 30 days.
Q: How do you protect my credit card information?
All credit card data is stored in an encrypted format. All sensitive data, such as credit card information, is transmitted via a secure SSL connection.
Q: What now?

What is the difference between ShopScreenBid and ScreenBid auctions?
ShopScreenBid was launched in March 2016 to make props, wardrobe and set decoration available to fans who prefer a buy-it-now feature. All items available in ShopScreenBid are Production-Used and insured against damage or loss during shipping.
